A Leader in Her Own Right

Building schools, building futures.

Rebbetzin Hadassa Halpern serves as Executive Director of the Ronald S. Lauder Impact Initiative, where she leads work focused on strengthening Jewish day schools across the continent.

The Initiative's mandate is broad — from curriculum to leadership development to capacity-building — and the Rebbetzin's role brings to bear two decades of experience as both a community-facing Rebbetzin and an educator who has watched Jewish schools transform their communities.

Her work in this role has spanned schools in [draft — specific cities and partner institutions to be confirmed with the family], with particular attention to schools serving children of post-Soviet Jewish families — the next generation of those her husband taught in the Beit Midrash.

A Partnership

The Rav and the Rebbetzin.

Two careers, one calling. Two roles in the community, one home.

In Berlin

A Home That Held a Community

For twelve years, the Halpern home in Berlin functioned as something between a Shabbos table and a yeshiva common room. Talmidim came for a meal and stayed for a chapter of their lives.

In the Schools

An Educational Vision

While the Rav built the rabbinate, the Rebbetzin built the schools that would feed it — an investment in children whose grandparents had not been allowed to learn aleph-beis.

In New York

A New Chapter, Same Door

The city changed. The phone numbers changed. The open door did not. The home remains the unspoken curriculum.
